# Too much slop in valvetrain?

This is after being installed and preload set. Basically the total possible motion of the pushrods in the guideplates and the trunnion between the snap rings. Normal or too much? Will it actually move this much during operation?

i think some side to side like that is ok, up and down is what your want to correct. someone 2nd me on this?

I’m good on the up/down - measured for the correct length pushrod to put the contact mark close to center and as thin as possible.

if your pushrod length is good and preload is set correctly you should be ok. if it helps my rockers also have some movement side to side like that but not as much.

its good to go. curious why you went with the nonguided rockers instead of guided rockers.

My understanding was that the NSA rockers were a more stable setup, especially at higher RPMs. Not that I’m really running that high.
I think I’m good to go now. All the B.S. measuring & setup stuff is done, just have to bolt the rest back together, get the wiring back in place, fluids, etc. I took way too long messing around with all of this, but I think I took care of everything possible!
Even remembered to use sealant on the intake rocker studs since they’re open to the manifold. I missed that last time.
