when buying a exhaust manifold what would be best? top or bottom mount im assumong that with top mount one would have to change down pipe other then that any other modifications and would it make more power as compared to bottom or is it more for someone with big turbo who needs more room ---

clearance and ram length. I’m sure someone will cue in and clear it up 100%. Power wise…for a regular top mount to regular bottom mount. No power difference. ---

Might be marginally less as air is being pushed up against gravity & travelling back a little further down the downpipe exhaust. Otherwise centre of gravity is a little higher with a topmount. I have heard that topmounts run a little hotter, but it could be just because of a bigger turbo. All the above are just my assumptions/opinions etc. So someone might know better. ---

top mount looks cooler. i want one. ---

Most t2 series manifolds unless custom made are al bottom mount. T3 t4 series are all top mount. If ur lookibg for big power then go top mount. ---

Top mounts make it a hell of alot easier to work on the car and make any changes to the turbo if required… a bottom mount is hell to work on… ---

If it will fit bottom mount… go bottom. Its SOOO much cleaner and more compact… ---
