if i can tow the 4x8 HF trailer with 4 55gal barrels (empty) and a bunch of other junk with a 3-cyl geo metro, from warsaw to webster, NY without any problems, you will be fine and safe. i even went 70-75 on the highway. i probably had 200lbs on the trailer.

Just driving the car around exerts more stress on the drivetrain than parking in gear.

with 3K+ LBS of boat hanging off the back on a downhill?

I’m fairly certain that drive there with a 3k+ lbs boat would be more likely cause more strain than that of parking with said load. As would towing it back up said ramp/hill.
