What the fuck? A bad time to own a drive by wire automatic Toyota? Id assume they would try to put it in the little N next to the D, or even turn the key off? ---

Toyota can’t fix the idiots who purchase their cars. I heard the 911 call. I felt bad for the family but if this guy had the time to call 911 and talk for 20 secs or so before the crash, how this guy was a police officer and lived this long is a miracle itself. ---

The call was from a passenger, not the driver. And he wasn’t familiar with the car, which had push-button start. ---

Toyota said the accident was caused by a wrong-sized, all-weather rubber floor mat in the car that was pushed down and caught the gas pedal, holding it down. (ABC News) or even dumber to purchase the wrong mats. ---

Don’t many jeeps do this from the early 90’s? I thought there was a thread on here when a woman in a jeep came rippin out of delta on nfb and smashed a couple cars up before rolling it.
