i want to swap a 1.6l 4-cyclinder engine with a v6 i want to know what a good engine that would fit the stock transmisson and fit in the stock motor mounts without cutting or altering body plz help me!! has to be automatic ---

for one, i doubt ANY v6 motor would bolt onto the stock transmission, let alone the stock mounts. that would be a pretty big project imho ---

They used to put the 3.0 taurASS motors in those cars iwth a beefier automatic. The cars flew for the times. I had a 86 tempo with a v6 swap…was a monster. Original motor was a 2.3 ---

sounds like you need to get on some forums specific to that car (if there are any) and start doing research we need a ‘swaps that will never happen’ subforum, there’s gotta be like a good 5 of these/week ---

Mabe a contour motor would be…but there is no way you are gonna be able to use stock mounts or the stock transmission. Dumb Idea ---

has to be automatic? and fit in a tracer? on stock mounts? with no body alterations? tempos could have the vulcan 3.0L OHV motor, parents had one. SHOguns were most definitely Festivas with 3.0L DOHC SHO engines, BDR5oh would get the cookie except Leno has two. 😉 put in the 1.8 b-series from the escort GTs, that’ll satisfy 3 of the 4 conditions. you won’t get a ford/mazda auto in there with any six banger without cutting all types of shit up. ---

ESCORT GTs FTW…but if u realllly want a v-6 seriously look into the MX-6 V-6…but there are plenty of parts available for Escort GT motors and its adirect swap since Tracer LTZs had the same motor in them a the Escort GTs teh Mazda B series motors ---

fuel rail, intake and exhaust manis, alternator, oil pan, and some other smaller stuff. there’s a guy at work that has a beat '90 and sourced a low mile GT 'scort that was side hit. basically if you have a miata with a shot mill and a donor shortblock, you’ll only need to get gaskets and hoses. I have noticed the original poster never cam back to claim his thread :lol: ---
