# Tranny I.D.?

But really, how can one tell an S14 ka tranny from an S13 KA tranny with them sitting on the floor?

does one have an extra sensor or something distinguishing?

almost positive that the S14 tranny has a sensor at the top of the bellhousing, right by the cylinder head when it’s on the engine. i forget what the sensor is for though. i know S13 doesn’t have this.

there is one more hole at the top of the bell housing on a S14 tranny. thats for the rear sensor shit.

the sensor on top of S14 trannies is the Crankshaft Position Sensor. S13’s don’t have this…
