hey guys my friend needs his trans rebuilt, and he wants to know of a good place to get it rebuilt at
he talked to a few people and they wanted around $1500 to rebuild it, so im wondering if anyone here does it, or knows of a good shop that will rebuild it for him
its on a mercury tracer, around ~98’

anyone i send you to is just gonna try and sell you a box. no one that knows anything about them is gonna want to rebuild it. infact you’ll probably get it in, get it apart and they’ll tell you you’ll need a unit

what would you guys think of finding some internals for this trans and putting them in ourselves?
i have never messed with an auto trans other than changing the pan gasket, but i think i could do it
