# Transpoder key sources?

I need a few spare keys made for my Lincoln and I don’t wanna spend another $80 for a spare since I wanna use the spares for getting a remote car starter installed.
I see ebay crap like this:

but I don’t trust ebay crap so I’m looking for a better source. Anyone have any info??

SOME, and i repeat, SOME hardware stores MAY be able to mkae the keys with the computer chip. I used to work at the hector’s on nigara falls blvd near sheridan and we used to be able to make the transponder keys for Fords, and they were only like $30. however, that was a long time ago, and i dont know if they still do, but its worth a shot

pretty much every locksmith carries ford transponder keys for like $30. You need 2 keys to program them without the ford scan tool on your car. Otherwise you’ll still have to go to the dealer for programming. If all you nned it for is the remote start you can just use a DEI 555F for transponder bypass.

well… i can prob get my hands on a blank chipped key… if you get it cut i can program it in(provided you have 2 other keys)…
