# trying to remove strut retaining nut

the retaining nut that holds the upper strut mount to the strut is recessed quite a bit, and an impact gun isn’t doing the trick because I need to hold the little part of the strut that comes out.
where can I get a tool to get it off? I went to advanced and pepboys and they didn’t have anything on the racks that was worth while.
any suggestions?

actually the impact should work…it will spin faster than the shaft, atleast it has always worked for me

i’ll give it a shot then. I need to go get a 3/8 - 1/2" adapter tho.

if its not coming off u need to start reving the gun and it will come out. ur replacing the strut right? becuse if your not your going to have to as ur destroying it with heat if u were giving constant impact gun
