# turbo swap in a4?

yeah š
GT3071/GT2871 hybrid custom turbo on a 1.8Tq. Some serious power, I canāt believe I forgot about him. Not sure what he runs, or expected power, I donāt like guessing. But, I was with him when he spun all 4 from a dead stop, so thatās proof enough for me. š
Iāve got a killer flu so Iām not on top of my game today, ugh.

the guy was at about 300whp and ran 12.8 around, but has some drivetrain issues, idk iād say thats fast for an a4
and dex :word: to racespec

I was comparing because they arenāt fast at all. Now, after some time, there is a fast one. I still have not seen a fast A4ā¦ EVER. I am speaking from personal experience.

My galant in itās current way it sits spins all 4, it is maybe a mid to low 14 second vehicle

Yeah, itās simply impossible to make any 1.8T car fast. They blow up when they run 14s.

stock exhaust, K04, autotragic, I had a half/half mixed with 112 and 93, wasnāt pulling much timing because my tuning wasnt finished. the spare tire was taken out.
complete mod list:
K04-15 turbo
Racespec K04 software @18psi (when I was at the track)
Stock fuel system
Stock exhaust
Modified air box
GFB Hybrid BOV
i think if I had ran it again at the track I would have done better from better tuning and more boost, but the extra power killed the car before I made it out again. It was a 2.0 60ā. My transmission is getting repaired as we speak and then the carās getting sold.
I drive a chevy truck now š

only 1 1.8tā¦ but thats not in my hands.
as for the turbo, its 3 bolts to the manifold, 3 to the exhaust(4 on transverse), 1 2" hoseclamp and 4 banjo fittings for coolant/oilā¦ shouldnāt take you more than 4 hours in an A4ā¦ 5 hours if youāre replacing the manifold, 6 if you have to do manifold and linesā¦ In a transverseā¦ generally double itā¦this is all aslong as youāre mechanically inclined.
