kuntryquest :picard:… i dont know a single person who went out with an intention to crash, yet I do know people that have crashed and have been cited… I bet the guy in the infamous neon/mustang race on transit planned for that to happen. Wanna know how to not risk the consequences _which are HUGE_ … Don’t put yourself in the situation. ---

I’m not getting into any kind of street racing vs drag racing debate, I would just like to say, that no matter what, crashes can happen. Although there is much less chance at the track. ---

Don’t race on trasit? Or don’t race? Don’t you go out in full leathers still willy…? Just saying, I’m not trying to start shit. But this thread is of excuses. I know where Turbo is coming from. No I don’t have a $35k 9 sec car. I had the KTM if I would have streeted I woulda lost my DL in a heartbeat. So I sold it. ---

I like onyx’s proposal. The bottom line is, everyone in this thread has their own opinion on what should be happening here. It’s nice to know there are some people that understand my reasons for not going street racing. Its not rocket science. If you want to go do that, have fun, but I wont be out there joining you. ---

the last time i donned full leathers was last night… lol (just to make sure they still fit and it was a joke)… that being said the last time I rode was 4-5 months ago… the last time i rode in leathers was on a track. Like people said… it just takes some a bit longer to grow up. And of course im being a bit hypocritical here, but im also not in a 9 sec car. ---

Josh’s proposal seems the only legit one thus yet. My vote goes to filmed and sponsored track race. Take out all the variables and just leave a nice, clean, friendly grudge match. ---

Im realy upset that nyspeed doesnt organize a track day at Empire. Alot of effort goes into all thes canada and outta state events when we got a 1/4mi track in our back yard that can be just as fun. I know its late but maybe next year we can arrange something. ---

is this gonna happen this year? I will buy a video camera and roll out with Derrick. I havent been out of the house or to a track in years. its seems like everyone has lost interest and stopped posting. Oct 17th would be great but I dunno if it will be too cool then. I havent seen Ians car or joes car since they left derricks house in the spring. ---

My point was from your perspective maybe you don’t have a lot to lose? and getting hurt is a lot different then ending up in jail and getting sued…losing a house, career, and other important things lol My point wasn’t to rag on you however if people choose not street race for legitimate reasons leave them the fuck alone. It’s possible to have a street car and still only race at the track. ---
