# Twin Turbo a Civic?

Just read that twin turbo for STi thread and just gotta me thinking bout crazy ideas…now i dont know that much about turbos yet but do you think it would be possible to twin turbo a civic? yes or no and why? would it be productive?

the reason its somewhat sensible to do a sti is because it has two banks of two cyl. now a civic is one bank of 4 cyl. now you have to break the one manifold down into two to make it usefull. kinda dumb. just go single big turbo.

true…but u could bore and stroke the 4 cyl honda motor to be more capable of the TT couldn,t u?

it’s been done before… some kid has it on his eg coupe… pretty dumb imo
single turbo on a 4cylinder is more senseful

Guy on [homemadeturbo.com](http://homemadeturbo.com) did one and LS engine I believe. He had decent results with it. Just not worth the extra cost for minimal horse power gains if any.
The guy who did it had spare turbo’s laying around and stuff so it didn’t cost him anything to do it.

I’ve wanted to do a TT civic for a while now… just for something different. Maybe use some audi TT KKK’s or even 3kgt/3oozx turbo’s

now since im just a youngin and dont know anything what is the purpose of twin turbos? now i know on say a V8 or V6 you would have them for each side…but if you did it on say a 4 cyl or inline 6 and stack the turbos? is one used to spool the other? and how much sense does it make to use a smaller turbo to spool a bigger turbo if you stacked them? Is that even possible?

x3… its for the same reason all twin turbo supra owners when upgrading go from tt to huge single turbo its way more efficient.

pretty much you would have to run such small turbos to get them to spool that you would never make enough power for the cost. I would say no more than 400whp would be seen on a TT street car with full boost before 6500rpm

on a 4cyl car is pretty much pointless. actually is really just a complete waste of money unless you wanna say " look my ricebucket has 2 turbos!"
this car had them at carlisle a few years ago. :bash:

well if you were to use somethign like 2 t25’s on a ls, it wouldn’t have a lot of turbo lag. what motor is it or did i miss it?
