# UGR TTG wreck at Tx mile

so i posted a picture earlier. but here are some more.
background :
richard holt, owner of the TTG Superleggera, went airborne after parachute deployment on a 235mph pass. sources say a big sidewind gust took the chute at deployment and the pictures tell the rest of the story.
owner was extracted and walked away from the car. minimal injuries.:wow
~235mph, cartwheeling. the cage, the hans device and lamborghini’s chassis engineers sure did a good job

My friend who was there told me about this. I guess the Lambos are sketchy as hell on decel. Although I hear SW was hitting 230s in his no problem.

SW has alot more mile experience than most of the TTG drivers.
the wind was crazy too. but, look back to videos from last year, Richard Holt(owner of the now wrecked car) spun a couple of times on decel last year. who knows what happened, so many variables.
what i know of LSR cars(from my friends in NC who are big into it), you have to drive into the chute then let off. pretty much the same as with a drag car, once you feel the chute pulling back, you let out. people say he may have have pulled the chute, let off, which let the suspension unload, which caused the unsettling of the rear of the car. others say the wind basically made the parachute a giant sail. i guess the world will have to wait to hear it from the horses’ mouth

Yes, I remember the video of the orange Gallardo spinning out like 2/3 runs. I believe it still runs at like 1300hp so it’s got a be a handful wherever it is on the track. Oh well, the guy lived, I’m sure he’ll be back in something else.
