I dont have the answers as to why buddy, I wasnt involved in making the law so I cant answer your questions but maybe you should ask the right people instead of me as they may have the answers you are looking for.

I do not have a problem with the law but you apparently do so I suggest you ask “them” the questions and not me. Im just posting up my opinion on it.

Please, stop preaching if you lack knowledge on the subject, “buddy”…

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one… Those who force their opinions on others without an explanation are usually the biggest ones.

Since you are incapable of answering my questions, how about you just move along to another thread…k, thx.

I’ve been a lurker for over a year and felt I should say something finally…or answer you “why’s”

> [@RealityZ33](#):
>
> Why did we need this law when we already had legislation regarding excessive speeding?

To further repremand people who has obvious disregard to the law.

> [@RealityZ33](#):
>
> Why deem it as the “Street Racing” law when in fact its just an amendment to the existing speeding laws?

To appease the public’s upset and gain votes

> [@RealityZ33](#):
>
> Why are we governed by speed limits first introduced in the 40’s?

Because there are obviously people who drive with the skills and attitude of the 40’s (ie 85 year old men who haven’t taken a driver’s test since they were 16)

> [@RealityZ33](#):
>
> And you say the law is doing well? How many street racers have they impounded?

The law is doing well in detering people from speeding and hopefully punishing the people who do regardless if they are driving a modified car, a minivan or an OPP cruiser. And this answer also refers to my comment on why call it street racing.

> [@RealityZ33](#):

> Since we are sharing opinions, why is your tint so dark? It looks illegal to me…your breaking the law… _sound familiar_?

Even if he was breaking the law. I believe his point is that if you are “man” enough to break the law, you should be man enough to take the punishment if you’re caught.

Is perfect example why TNC has developed such a bad reputation and has had a deminishing posting count. As a lurker I have watched numerous people disappear and never return. I believe Tony240 was offering his opinion which is what the forums are for. No need to attack him personally. Debate and discussion is good and healthy and it is good to hear everyone’s opinions because that shows how diverse this community can be. But as a slient reader, it appears that all the members want to condone excessive speeds on the highways, bash and ridicule fellow members, and be all gangster.

I understand the mentality of Internet Bullies and how everyone is so tough onscreen. But really, as an elite poster, do you feel that you have represented the community properly?

/1st post.

I believe that is what the existing law was for…

Your spot on.
I find it strange that some do not find this upsetting.

Your reasoning has no base. How does the birth age of a driver directly affect the technology of _todays_ vehicles?
The law was not based on driver competence, rather the limitations surrounding the vehicles themselves.

As an example, my father is 73 and has driven my old z33. He grew up driving in asia and europe. He is definitely an experienced driver who could probably put down better lap times with my z then I could have. So your reasoning is flawed.

Yes it is working as a deterrent, but do you really think the OPP officers will be charged?
Why were they given pay with leave, if this is such a horrible crime?

Obviously, the law is not transparent…

I made no personal attacks, just stating the obvious.

Internet Bully, me? Please explain how I am “bullying”

Yes I do believe I am representing the community properly. I do not condone street racing, I never have.

The manner in which this law was passed is what disturbs me and many others.

From word of mouth I heard they were going to be introducing a law stating something along the lines of modified vehicles… from what I heard of course that anybody pulled over with a modified engine such as forced injection on a vechicle that is N/A out of the factory will be impounded…

Anyone else hear of that law?

^I recall that rumor, it never went through. Hopefully it never will. There’s too many car enthusiasts that will be affected by this, including myself.

I suggest installing a hidden voice recorder in the car. Switch it on when you get pulled over by a police. You can use any harassments against him in court.
