# Unbending Bent exhausts

I have a custom made (from Hybrid) 3.5" exhaust
i hit a manhole cover a while back, and at one of the bends it bent a lot
I was thinking of cutting that section off, and just rewelding another piece of 3.5" diameter SS piping, but someone mentioned something different to me:
using water.
You weld caps on the side after you fill that section with water, and you stick it in the freezer.
anyone ever done this before?

sounds interesting… I don’t think I would want to be around if it actually works tho… probly make a pretty loud noise… In the end you still have to have someone weld the ends closed, then wait… probably just easier to have that section remade and welded in.
If you do try freezing it, let me know if it works for ya.

For all that work you mention it would be more beneficial to just replace the part that is bent.

yeah u could bring that to a muffler shop and they would prolly charge very little for that
