# Underbody rustproofing/prevention in WNY

Based on this thread I was planning to go to Carwells. This morning they told me that the soonest they could get me in is December 8. I’m glad that they’re busy, but a month is a long backlog.

Hey, the warranty is on the website now.
There is a Rustkote New Car Warranty for vehicles that are treated when they are less than 6 months old, if rust develops then Rustkote will double your money back and repair the vehicle.
The Rustkote used car warranty is for vehicles between 6 months and 2 years old and if rust develops, then Rustkote with completely repair the vehicle.
With both warranties the process needs to be applied and documented on a yearly basis.
Also really cool thing is tomorrow (Saturday 11/15) 97 Rock is going to be at Rustkote McKinley from 2 - 4PM. They are going to be giving away a lot of stuff!
Its at 3701 McKinley Pkwy at the Sears Auto Center in the McKinley Mall.

Took my BMW E90 and the girlfriends Mini Coops to RustKote McKinley last week. 2 for 1 deal, was in and out quickly. Got my recommendation!

Took the Raptor over to Rustkote yesterday at the Eastern Hills mall, A+ job.
2 for 1 deal taken advantage of as well, $65 out the door.

call back and ask if there’s any cancellations for the week. I called today to schedule an appointment for my dad’s mini cooper…he goes in tomorrow at noon. :tup:

No holes drilled for me. They recommended against it on my E90, basically saying the factory does a proper job sealing off the one area where they would have drilled on other cars. The ladies Mini had a hole in each b pillar from a previous application (somewhere out of state) so they just reused that hole. Dude’s there were very accomodating.

I cancelled my Carwell appointments and went to Rustkote by the Eastern Hills Mall. $130 bucks for the F150 and A4 with the 2 for one deal.

When I had my truck done last year there was a guy with the same truck 2 yrs older than mine. He had the treatment done every year and had zero rust from what I could see. My truck was starting to rust in a more than a few places. I have also heard of many others that swear by this stuff. If you plan on keeping a vehicle for awhile this is well worth the cost in my book. If you flip vehicles every couple years or so dont bother.

My dad swears by it and does his truck every year (he does it himself, but that’s cause a he’s a PITA and cheap) but his last truck was 9.5 years old without a spot of rust on it. I really just want to use it so that my wife’s truck does not rust from the inside out, like some of her previous vehicles have. Especially along the door seems from inside the doors and the fender arches from the seam welds, stuff like that.
