Removing and installing the VIN plate onto a different vehicle is a felony I believe.

probably. getting caught becomes more of a issue when selling and or misrepresenting the car being sold. On a custom project i have to imagine you will get a lot less attention. If and when the car is sold it will be obvious what was done to the buyer and if they are looking to buy something like that chances are they will not care one bit.

Heh, I pulled my m5 into the bay onto their 4-post lift. Babying the throttle as much as possible but it was no good, Filthy Habits dual 3" straight pipes with no mufflers nor resonators. He just said “V8? Loud. Sounds fast. Nice.”

It didn’t look like they even touched my folder of receipts I had on the rear passenger’s floor.
