Anyone know if there is anything coming up? I want to look for a SKS…or maybe a AR15… ---

those two guns are not even similar. what are your plans for the rifle? plinking? hunting? ---

I would say they are similar in that they are both assault style rifles. If you are looking for something for taking to the range for fun either would work. Obviously, the AK would be cheaper all around. ---

don’t buy at a gun show, the prices usually suck. find the gun you actually want, find a dealer, order to a local FFL and be done with it. Really, gun shows are a waste of time. ---

you can get an SKS for like 200-400 AR’s are 800-maybe 1500 deending on manufacturer and whats on it. ---

Screw the SKS. Guncenter has brand new Chinese AK’s for ~$200 IIRC I don’t get criticism of owning both. They each have their own feel. ---

What’s the point of an SKS when you have a better gun? Nobody wants to load stripper clips. Nobody likes the SKS for anything but it’s price. WOW it uses 7.62. ---

^Yes, I understand. I would buy a milled receiver if I were i the market. BUT, they do have them. They are cheaper. They work perfectly fine. A milled receiver is nicer, but a stamped receiver is not junk. ---

so gun center really has new AK’s for $200? I’m an AR guy, but that would be a fun toy for that price. Utmost quality isnt really a concern as I don’t foresee myself participating in guerilla warfare anytime soon. ---
