So im childish now because i said i made a profit on my car??
Yes… a NEW car is one of the worst investments you can make, it will depreciate as soon as you drive off the lot(save for a FEW cars). Why do you think there are things called used car dealerships…hmm, because for them cars are an INVESTMENT! :confused People buy/sell cars all the time for profits, so im not sure exactly why you are jumping in my shit here…

Considering you would have to do gas and routine maintenance on any car you drive you can technically make a profit selling a car for a little more money than you paid for it.
Also you would have to make a payment on any car (unless you or your daddy are rich) so its basically like driving the car for nothing/almost nothing.

My previous post stated that if you are buying a car strictly to re-sell it for a higher price without driving it for an extended period of time then yes it could be called an asset on which you may be able to make an investment. But to say that you are making an investment on car that you plan to drive for a longer period of time is ignorant at best.

Wait how are we arguing you cant invest money into a car. My friends dad bought a 67 427 corvette. Paid 50k for it. Has put no more then 1500 into it. Has had the car for oh maybe 4-5 years and now has it sold for 210k. If thats not an investment Im not quite sure what is.

There’s select models out there that are “investments” sean, you know that.
Most cars aren’t. They need to be unique/rare/low number produced to apply to that. There also obviously needs to be a demand.
Buy low sell high.
The only car I really made any money was my Lightning, the rest was pretty much break even… of course I have a past of not keeping cars too long. That now changes after buying a house.
