I was thinking about picking up US Fidelis on my Caddy since repairs on it can be costly(even for me doing the labor) and time comsuming. I dont have the time anymore. Since it’s paid for I’d liked to keep it, but there isn’t a warrenty anymore. With my wife and I starting another business, all extra money is going into that for the time being. So I dont want to be caught with my pants down with a typical north star problem, I’m sure I’ll be having sooner or later. Anyone here heard about US Fidelis, know personally or know poeple that have had this or have it? ---

Seems like the kind of thing where 90% of problems would never meet warranty coverage. ---

I’ve seen more negative then positive sofar that is for sure. Just watched a Today Show Episode from just a few weeks ago. Just got a quote, it’s almost 3k a year for powertrain coverage, OUCH… I can replace the engine for less then that, hahaha I think I’ll pass… ---

The investigation also found that more than 1,100 customers have filed a formal complaint with the BBB for things like not covering a repair that it said it would cover, leaving the driver on the hook for the repair bill. There was a big story on the Today show about these guys. I guess Matt Lauer was getting hounded by these guys, and decided to investigate. See if you can look up the story so you can check out the 17,000 sq foot house the U.S. Fidelis owner is building. Not paying claims tends to be highly lucrative. ---

I bought an extended warranty for my car through GMAC. They better not fuck me over when I need some work done. ---

I always got the impression that only idiots would go for this service. Similar to cash4gold. ---

my buddy at work has one of these and his head gasket went on his dakota. I guess the company didnt cover the actual headgasket. They covered the labor and the maching of the head. left him with 700 dollars in charges he had to pay out of pocket. ---

What level of coverage? Did you read the contract before buying? Becuase I hate it when people claim to be getting screwed, when the part in question was clearly listed as an exclusion. ---

I’d have to look at it again, but I spent 45 minutes with the GMAC guy going over what it covers vs what it doesn’t, and it sounds like everything is covered minus brake pads, clutch plate and a few other small wear and tear parts. ---

I would only drop coin on an ext warranty from a 1st party (CPO) dealer situation. That, and, I am sick of the fucking company that calls with an autodialer telling me that my vehicle warranty is about to expire, OH NOES, call us back ASAP. ---

it only covers failures, not accidents, repairs, or maintenance. and its obnoxiously expensive, for what it is. Plus its just a BS sales pitch. When you call for a quote, you HAVE to buy it right then. And you have to pay up front, or make payments for 18 months on 3 years of coverage. So they get all your money, and then you go over the miles. Its just a waste. Totally not worth it. ---
