I am working on a 99 sunfire that needs a new engine…its a 2.2 automatic.i am looking for a decent place that offers some warranty on their engines.I have called LKQcorp. and they quoted me 675 for a 75k mile (yea i bet they all have 75k) engine with 6 month warranty and free delivery to the dealer i work at. Add another $100 and I get 1 yr warranty then $200 for two year warranty…i was hoping to find one for cheaper…I mean it is a 2.2 GM motor that is prone to headgasket issues.but then again LKQ seems like a respectable place and its convinient for them to drop the engine off at my work. any other options? I really dont have time for u-pull-it Junkyards…

thanks for the replies guys.
originally the HG was blown and i think the guy ran it w coolant in the engine for to long.then my buddy bought it put a head gasket in it and it blew shortly after.The bottom and is wrapping and the crank moves in and out like the thrust bearings are MIA.bearings REALLY don’t like coolant lol.
pewter i don’t have the vin yet im getting the car towed to my house friday.

when u buy a used part, vin number from the car will be on the receipt. cross reference the vin to confirm the mileage. or buy from someone that you know.

How can i cross referance the vin to get mileage?carfax?
the deal on this one is pretty decent.the interior is spotless with minimal body rust(just some surface).the guy is towing to my house for free.I will have less in this than the kbb value.
