LOL YES.

Computerizing this type of thing is EXACTLY what I do for a living. I’m not spending the money on it but I’ve already thought about having a couple of thermocouples and hydrocarbon analyzers feeding back into a PLC to control rotisserie drive speed and damper positions, light off an alarm when the meat reaches a preset temperature or the fire temp gets too low…

Some day when I have the money to burn…

I have the cellular modules to do this as well, for true remote access. We could even design a quick BB app!

Thanks for the offer dude, but I’m going to give it a go with a steel blade on a circular saw. It’s just thin walled sheet steel. Shouldn’t be too tough.

Anyhow, the tank’s in the back yard and a barrel is in the driveway. This is starting to look like it might actually happen…

that is really awesome. you should probably be taking progress pictures, including photos of empty beer cans/bottles that were consumed during the construction process.

If you would not have gone to sleep, you could have been done already… Who needs basement shelves anyway.

I have a feeling we are going to have to bump this thread today without any input from fry…
I hope someone goes over to help him… He really should not play with power tools without supervision.

Negatory… he has been “trained” to avoid asphyxiation.
I’d bet he gets lots of little burns from hot steel.

I dunno, this is the same guy who wanted to go through the kitchen to get the tank out, instead of just taking off his storm door… :bloated: Wifey would have loved that.

Just make sure that tank is nice and empty, also careful or any fumes. That oil is fucking potent. Sparks + Fumes/oil = no more Fry
