# vBulletin help..

ok so im curious as to… if you buy the vBulletin and you download all the files…

and your friend wants them… and you give him the files too… can you both now have a copy ofvBulletin?

so say he uses his on his site his friend uses his on his site…

how does that work?

just curious cause i had someone ask me about it… and i have no idea

they pretty much paid for 1 of the boards.

and his friend got all the exact same files to make his own…

The license number is embedded into the files. Whenever he visits admincp, it will send the ip address and license number to vbulletin. They can tell if you’re using it more than once.
