My first batch of ViPEC boxes arrived today. Early impressions of the equipment, harnesses, sensors, packaging and instructional info is very promising.

On the replacement boards they even go so far as to send you a leather grounding strap so that you can ground yourself while handling the electronics.

I’ll take some pics tonight when I get home.

Do you think that leather strap can be used for other things as well?

I’m pretty sure an AEM isn’t capable of this. The only way to accomplish something like that is through modifier tables such as Nitrous controls which can modify fuel delivery based on a triggered input. It isn’t perfect but works.

The autronic is capable of that? Isn’t it?

Well, I suppose we are both assuming he is using two different fuels/tunes. If not it’s as simple as a higher boost target on a switch. I’m assuming now though that even the 501 tune is on pump so it’s all the same map…just more load.

But, if the second map was required for an alternate fuel, that’s exactly what I mean. With one trigger you can effectively raise boost, control timing and fuel. Using the nitrous table would be the cleanest way of doing this as you wouldn’t pressumably retune the whole map. Assuming the car is tuned via boost compensation you wouldn’t likely even need to retune fuel (assuming you were still using gas at various octanes and not meth or nitrous or your turbo was horridly inefficient at lower boost)

Thats TINY. I like that better then a clunky AEM unit.

You want to know another pet peeve of mine. The mounting of an AEM. I spend close to 2 grand on the damn thing. I’d like a better way to mount it then a couple pieces of velco. God forbid someone breaks into my car. I’d like to at least make it hard for them to take. Hows this EMS mount?

Minor point but it has always bothered me.

Canadian Retail pricing for all V44-based boxes is $1675.

Keep in mind too that none of these boxes are MAF based… so this price is everything you need to convert to Speed Density (MAP based)
