my pc has come down with a trojan horse FakeAlert.ec
it looks like a spoof windows antivirus 2009 pop up and has taken up residence on my toolbar
it keeps popping up and telling me I have 84 viruses and wants me to enter credit card info to upgrade to heal ect ect
I have the free version of AVG and while it takes care of the multiple pop up trojan horse viruses that it seems to unleash it cant get to the route of the problem
it is sitting on my c drive under my program files but it will not let me delete or modify it in anyway, it says access denied
this goddamn thing is driving me nuts, it has been fucking with stuff on my PC and even changed some shit on my wireless settings and had me blocked from the internet for a bit
I have restored all of my settings and used CC cleaner on everything I can
any ideas how to get rid of this mother fucker??

I had the same thing and Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware got rid of it for me

Theres a new virus going around thats hidden in some banners…AV software really isn’t protecting agaisnt it.

I have some trojans I can not get rid of. It’s driving me insane. Malwarebytes isn’t cutting it.

Try Nod 32. Might work for you.
