# VW Question - Flood Related

Someone I know has a 2004 VW 1.8t and has been having trouble getting into 4th gear since yesterday’s rain situation.
He said he was driving through some deep water yesterday, and ever since, he is having a hard time shifting to fourth.
Any help is appreciated.

tell this person to look for a log lodged in the shift linkage that might have been adrift and got tangled up during said driving

hell i had a corona cap in my shift linkage and i only had 2 gears

Im thinking its part of the plastic skid plate that might be the problem but the car is too low to see until we can get it to the ramps/lift

plastic belly pan goes no where near shift cables or selector.
