Saw this on KAT, thought it was funny:
From the desk of your local V-TECH nutswingers. Enjoy.
Twas the night before Christmas and caught at the light,
Was a 240 and no cops in sight,
I will try, I will try, I will try with this little thing,
To beat that damn 240, even if it’s KA-T powered,
As the light goes green and I pull like no joke,
The 240 erupts in clouds of rear tire smoke,
Now Smasher, now Rev-ver, now Stroker, now Blitzin,
These are the names of my four V-TECH pistons,
Racing ahead I’m the star of the Action,
But I know I’m in trouble when that 240 gets traction,
Grabbing second, I hear the RPM sing,
My mirror is blocked by my Shopping Kart Wing,
I now hear the roar, of that big monster gaining,
All I can do is keep my V-TECH straining,
In a second, the shockwave hits with a blast,
And my stickers go flying now, a thing of the past,
Don’t bother with third, cause now it’s too late,
Just try to act cool, like you can relate,
Looking up at the taillights as they get smaller,
The driver backs off just to give me a holler,
“You can’t win them all,” he says in fling,
“You may not win any, in that silly thing”,
I scowled and revved and let out a sigh,
And did my trademark high-speed fly-by.

At what point in the story does a fried piston ring embed itself in someone’s skull damnit?
Why can’t people stop comparing every car’s performance to Civics?
“Oooh, my 7psi, -40º timing, pig-rich 180 hp beat a Honda!”
Nothing like another internet geek writing a poem to show his brand how loyal he is … to the car he almost owns, and has an OBX turbo and manifold almost won on eBay for.
His 240 is going to be sick … yo. Just you wait and see.

Whoever wrote the original thing is a tool, not b/c it’s anti honda or whatever, but b/c it’s poorly made. The rhymes are shit, and it’s just half-assedly thrown together. The only people that eclipse his toolish-ness are the ones that instead of laughing WITH it, or laughing AT it took it as a big issue and ran around with it.

Poems/songs about cars = ghey
Unless originally recorded by the beach boys, Jan and Dean or anyone else from that era. Imagine a time when people were so excited about cars coming out, that pop stars wrote songs about them? And good songs too.
Could you imagine that Today?

Songs about a fuelie Vette drag racing Max Wedge Hemis? Hot.
The fact that it’s been 40 years and they still haven’t told us who won? (it was a race between a Beach Boy and some other guy that really went down) A bit annoying.
That they bowed to pressure to solve the Stingray vs Wedge debate and released Shut Down II … and it was an instrumental? Hilarious.
It could never be done today. Hell, they’ll probably just rip off a sample, loop it and rap over top of some cheesy beat about blinging up something or other.
If I have to hear another song with an Innagaddadavida sample … I’m going to shoot someone. What psychedelia from the '60s has to do with shooting DJs with AKs to bring about the new hip-hop is a brain hurter.
