…BUT, if you wanted a cherry playform with which to build a brand-new SE-R, it could probably be done. The hard part is finding a cherry SR20DE and transmission for it.

Yes, they are real. You see alot of these older designs being sold as new in other countries. Look at that car in Russia that looks like something from the 1950’s that you can still get now.

So??? You could put an SR20 in it 🙂 And I bet all the suspension components could be swapped with SE-R stuff.

I worked on a 1998 beetle from Mexico, looked just like the old school ones, damn thing was so simplistic.

Yep, they just keep building em in Mexico. Although the beetle plant shut down a few years ago, they are still building B13’s in Mexico. GA16 only though, and I believe only 4 door. I saw a ton of them when I was in Costa Rica this spring. I was jealous. I’d totally rock a new B13 for a DD, even if it is just the GA.
