^ Not all Rolex owners are like that, but the initial expectation is that they are not enthusiasts. It’s a great brand, but I don’t love the brand image. ---

Kinda like that Cartier Joe… 🙂 People that own Rolex’s aren’t always stupid as you portray them to be. However, you are right it is the universal “expensive” watch everyone wants. I guess you could say that’s effective marketing. I’ve heard many times of that happening where people go to an interview or a meeting with a client and the person doing the interviewing or the client turns out to be a watch enthusiast as well, which usually works out in your favor. ---

Oh i know Rolex is a great watch, but someone like me, you or Joe wearing one is putting out the wrong message. (assuming you are in a similar demographic) It doesnt say “i like watches and have good taste”, it says “Daddy bought this for me” And it says that whether it’s true or not. two of my cousins have rolex’s (one is a tudor) both given to them by relatives. When i see guys under 30 with them i pretty much just assume they bought bling and dont know anything about it. ---
