A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM EST THURSDAY.
TOTAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE MOHAWK AND SCHOHARIE VALLEYS… WESTERN ADIRONDACKS… SOUTHERN VERMONT… LAKE GEORGE SARATOGA REGION… BERKSHIRES… HELDERBERGS… EASTERN CATSKILLS… AND CENTRAL TACONICS THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. ACROSS THE SOUTHERN ADIRONDACKS AND SOUTHERN GREEN MOUNTAINS IN VERMONT… SLIGHTLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF 4 TO 8 INCHES ARE EXPECTED.
PATCHY LIGHT SNOW WILL CONTINUE TO FALL ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS. THEN A BROKEN BAND OF SNOW WILL TRACK THROUGH THE REGION… ENDING BY SUNRISE… AS A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM APPROACHES TRACKS THROUGH THE GREAT LAKES.
AS WARMER AIR MOVES INTO THE AREA AFTER MIDNIGHT… THERE IS A CHANCE THAT THE SNOW MAY GRADUALLY MIX WITH… AND POSSIBLY CHANGE TO LIGHT RAIN OR FREEZING RAIN IN THE SCHOHARIE VALLEY… CATSKILLS… TACONICS AND HELDERBERGS. ANY ISOLATED FREEZING RAIN ACCUMULATION WOULD BE A TRACE AND VERY LOCALIZED. MORE SCATTERED RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED THURSDAY MORNING… AND WILL TAPER OFF BY MIDDAY.
A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW… SLEET… OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES. BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES… AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.

TOday had the perfect amount of snow for driving around in. i had alot of fun 🙂

The roads are pretty much bare. I only slid a little on the little dead end road leading into the parking lot at work. 4wd stopped the sliding though.
It was 34\* on the way to work (gotta love the dash thermometer on the truck) and its just raining.
In a few Im heading up to Warrensburg. They were supposed to get more snow than us.

My ride home from albany to amsterdam blew dick. I was the only one that seemed to remember how to drive in snow. saw a bad roll over by crainsville fire dpt. looks like they over corrected and crossed the median and put it on its lid and then a car slammed in the roof of it going the other way.
Then the best was right down the road from my house. the corner of Mc Donald and Mc Kay in Ft Johnson… a green durango blew the stop and put it nose down in a 6-7foot deep ditch. It looked like the truck did an endo! it was almsot 90 deg straight up and down. lol. I dont know how the fuck they are going to pull that out.
It was glare ice under the wet heavy snow from rotterdam to ft johnson at my hose.
But I was happy to see a little more snow on the trails… BRRRRAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.

Yeah last night there was a bad accident on Maxwell Rd… there was ice underneath the wet snow, and of course nobody knows how to drive living in upstate NY and all… (sarcasm)

I saw two cars in ditches on the northway between Malta and Saratoga this morning. One had just slid a little off the road but the other one was way down in the median ditch.

I just wish that when it snows it doesnt jump up to 40\* and melt in the same day making a big sloppy mess.
