# Wednesday Night racing mystery

deep in the 10s?, ive seen a couple z28’s at the valley with exhaust, header, cam running low 14’s i don’t think by throwing a roots style blower will instantly put you “deep in the 10s”

^^thats all only 14’s my car with the same exact things done to it ran a 15.0 (2003gtiturbo I’m borrowing your time cuz you had the same mods as i do now) now my car weighs less, and has less power, thats pretty sad that its only low 14’s. What does the z28 run stock?

A LS1 Z28 should run low-mid 13’s all day Long Depending on the driver…a LT1 Z28 runs high 13’s, low 14’s…depending on the driver
Sorry but Im gonna hafto disagree with you. throwing on a supercharger without a agressive head/cam package on your Z28 WILL NOT put you into the 10’s…you will have trouble seeing mid 11’s…Granted your on stock lower control arms, torque arm, panhard bar and stock shocks/springs and street tires.
My buddys C6 Z06 that is cammed, headers, exhaust and tuned (556rwhp) went 11.4 @ 129mph on street tires…yah his 60’s were shitty because he couldnt hook lees then half the track but hes making a hell of alot more power then a bolt on supercharged ls1 will make.

Actually my mistake…with the cam they’ll run 13’s…but i saw a couple at the valley running low 14’s and they def had full exhaust and one sounded like it had a cam and ran a 14.0 …stock the auto’s have 290-300rwhp and the 6MT have 310-320rwhp…with a good launch LS1’s should run low 13’s with mild mods (i/h/e).

I agree, the rotary is WAY lighter. But then, you have to add in the weight of twin turbos, the mess of intake wires and plumbing, intercooler, etc whereas the V6 would be N/A and not have all that… But I’m sure the 13B with all that is still lighter than even a V6…

In 1/4 mile times you always have to account for the driver.
What a car is capable of, and what it actually runs by it’s actual owner are two **VERY** different things.

my buddy’s dad has a merkury grand marquis pulled the blue lt1 z28 cameo from a roll and a dig HARD! mind you… the grand marquis runs mid 16’s and trapping 84mph…

i dont know why everyone is giving boostin camaro so much heat for telling what happened. they raced he won, he even stated the car wasnt running properly so he knew the race wasnt saying much. i agree jays car would move out on the v6t camaro but in that particular case it didnt, and boostin didnt insinuate anything different.

shouldnt be beaten on the street? I have a buddy with a cammed C6 Z06 with a 150 shot that would leave that car for dead…but this isnt a i have a friend, whose friend has this car thread.,

If it isn’t then don’t bring it up. Also, he doesn’t have the fastest car in the Capital District. For the street, given his traction, skills, and power, he is going to be very hard pressed. I didn’t think you would take that to the extreme. 🙂
Also, power is great if you can put it down. I’d welcome a cammed Z06 in the 1/8th. 🙂

jays car is fast, and he is a good driver, but i wouldnt go as far as to say him and his car are unbeatable on the street.
