Didn’t read any of the other replies, but I’m all for what they are doing. In the article, someone who was interviewed said: “it’s unfair.” This made me chuckle profusely,as Wegmans isn’t a non-for-profit and isn’t a democracy. I’m sure this decision was based off of other things than morals/ethics, as they are betting their increased public image ( which was already quite high ) should pull in more customers, but will that offset their sale of tobacco? I’m uncertain, however they must be pretty sure considering it was never a consideration of other grocery stores in the area to make this decision. Additionally, for the smokers out there, I’m curious how many actually purchase their shit from a grocery store anyways, and not a gas station / convenience store? ---

It’s stupid PC PR. Next thing, they’ll stop selling ice cream to diabetics or people with heart trouble. BTW: I smoke an occasional cigar (1-2 month) and have never been a cig smoker. Idiocy like this just rubs me the wrong way. Self righteous ads about how they care about people 🎻 Not. And even if they do, thanks very much but I will take care of myself. Basically, it’s :gay3: ---

Reminds me of a store I saw in rural NC, years ago when visiting a friend. **Bob’s Guns, Gas, and Liquor**. :burnin: Tanked up, tanked up, and bought some ammo. Weggies ought to take a lesson from Bob. Made me want to move there but my wife hates redneck shit. ---
