# Weird engine noise

hey guys, im hearing a non-constant whining/grinding noise coming from the engine. I opened the hood and listened but cant tell where its coming from, it sounds grinding/whining noise only there when its idling, not constant, comes back and goes away repeateldy, when i put my hand on the throttle body i can feel it vibrate, i took off my power steering belt and the noise is still there. Could it be the alternator or the water pump ? Which one is it more likely to be ? I have 8 days to fix it… Let me know asap. thanks.

yeap… oh shit, i hope its the alternator, thats the easiest way out, or something stupid like a belt but that really doesnt sound like it but im gonna check today since the alternator’s belt is the only belt left to check _runs car off the battery_ _kills that_ _calls friend with booster cables_…

Timing chain maybe depending where the noise come from.
