# weird noise when the radiator fan comes on

ok so every time i turn my heat on everything works find but when my radiator fan clicks on this loud ticking noise randomly happens. It sounds like it’s coming from my from the top left side of the engine bay. i don’t know if maybe something randomly gets caught in the blower. who knows, i just hope i’m a tard and it’s something fairly easy to fix. oh and my car’s an 04 mazda 3.

possibly your a/c compressor clutch cycling very fast.

well the noise happens when the radioaor fan kicks on but the heat has to be on otherwise there’s nothing. i was thinking maybe something was caught in the blower… is that possible? it’s very sporadic

Typically your radiator fan is not influenced but turning on the heater. The AC is another story…

and the more gas i give it the louder it gets but goes away randomly…

That could be the AC compressor as psychopjv pointed out.

Is there a clutch fan on this car or electric only?
