# weird rough idle and white smoke. pls HELP!!

how’s it going everyone!? i need help with my 92 240sx (sr20det). when i turn the car on, it idles really rough with loud coughing noise. also, heavy amount of white smoke are coming out of the exhaust (muffler). i drove the car the night before, and it was running ok. no problems at all, but when i try to start the car early today, it started acting up really weird. i’m taking my car to my mechanic tomorrow, and i’m just wondering if i can get any help or feedback here. Please help!

any help would be appreciated. thanks!

could be head gasket, too.

thanks guys! i will probobly just take out the turbo for now and will try to get it re-built later on.

check your oil. if it looks milky the its your head gasket… mix some coolant and oil in a small cup and swirl it around to see what your looking for in your oil.
