That’s why u need the proper PPE and correct cleaners for doing this shit.
Ya u can weld but how smart r u about it.
my next investment. will be an add-flo set up for my hood.
add-flo is a self contained air filtration system that pumps fresh filtered air in to ur sealed hood. made by speed glass
miller also just recently came out with oe also . waiting to check out there system b4 i make a purchase.
I know add-flo is 1,700 or so. the miller is suppose to be a few hundred cheaper.

Hank, I have the Adflo. I bought mine used and retrofitted it to my Speedglass 9000xx for under $600. It’s nice to breath fresh air when welding 🙂
I’ve actually been stupid in the past and have done this with brake cleaner before. I’ve cleaned and flashed it off and waited a duration before welding and have had caustic fume flash in my nasal cavity that burned like nothing else. I would not doubt that some of my asthma related breathing issues now are directly a result from this and I’m certain repercussions will be there for me down the road. Highly stupid and extremely dangerous.

wow. i hear about welders ending up with real bad health problems later in life because theyre inhaling all kinds of nasty ass fumes during work.
