so far i love the car, plan on lowering it, stage 2 tune and keeping it as a fun daily driver. i really wanted an r35 but couldnt justify that much money just sitting 99% of the time

this exactly…was in the market and dead set on golf R or S3 and the Golf R has way more useable space in it too. Got a used 335 anyways after all that. That blue tho makes up for a lot.

Style wise I’d pick the S3 over the R every single time. Hatchbacks just don’t do it for me and sales figures say that applies to most people in the US. Hatches are more practical but so are minivans.

the thought crossed my mind, but i paid the same amount for this as a loaded golf (close to 17%off, and golf r are hard to find deals on)
i like the s3 looks but still respect the golf R

Nice p/u. Get a JB1 for it rather than a flash IMO. I’ve had canned tunes on my last 4 cars and the JB1 is by far the smoothest and easiest to adjust.

This ^^
i have a jb1 and a downpipe in my mk7 Gti and it fucking rips. Similar gains as flashes, half the price of a flash. Someday they will offer the full jb4 setup like they have for bmw’s. Install took 30 min and can be removed in the same amount of time. No worries about flash counter for warranty purposes.

Great deal. I love the look of the S3, just wasnt enough truck space. Still cant get over that color.
