Okay, well not Tully’s restaurant…but Tully, New York!

Decided to bite the bullet and get a car that I’ve had my eye on for years now.

A little info…

1999 Mazda Miata (NB)
Touring Package
84,000 miles

So far, I absolutely LOVE this car. So much that I really wish I would’ve bought one earlier.

On to the pictures…

Day I bought it:

All cleaned up:

Painted the tail lights:

Refinished the head lights (Took apart, painted inside housing black, buffed and UV coated exterior cover)

Before:

After:

And as it sits today:

Probably not till the end of summer/winter time. I want to just drive it as is for now. If anything, I may buy some Raceland coilovers to drop it and then just wait on wheels.

I really like my Vmaxxs.
When you buying an LS1?

I cant imagine the hoops that you would need to jump through to pass inspection on an OBD2 swap. If it could be done that would be amazing. I know its possible to swap turbo drivetrain into older obd2 n/a subarus and pass inspection. If all else fails, register it as a camaro-- they will _never_ know.

My car should be on the road tomorrow–we will have to have a miata meet soon!

After doing mine - it would be harder but not as bad as you would think.

Nice purchase! Did you find this on craigslist? It looks familiar and I want to say I saw this when it was listed.

Yeah it was on CL, probably on the Syracuse one if I remember correctly. Got it for a REALLY good deal from a retired teacher, he had used it to tow behind his RV. They bought a home in Florida and were trying to get rid of extra stuff before they left.

Oh, and this thing came with literally a 2.5" binder full of maintenance records from Mazda dealers/repair shops. I even have the original window sticker. This car was serviced every 3,000 miles and has had every fluid checked, filled or flushed in that increment.

Don’t see why you couldn’t swap in a OBDII PCM/Motor with all the correct sensors/emissions and pass inspection

This car is also old enough that all cars didn’t have to have the VIN in the PCM :tspry:

Yep I saw that exact ad, remember the RV part and everything. You probably couldn’t ask for a better Miata to come across, especially with the maintenance history and all. Enjoy cruising this summer.
