I googled, anyone got any inside info on potential BR releases of _The Royal Tenenbaums_ or _A Life Aquatic_?

i haven’t seen any reference to his movies coming out anytime soon on blu-ray. i read a lot of home theater sites daily, and upcoming blu-ray media is heavily published.

i did do some searching around. most of his movies are criterion titles. if you go to their website, they have about 30 blu-ray releases and 500 DVD releases. my guess is you’re going to be waiting some time.

off topic: anyone see the darjeeling limited? was it any good?

DL was okay, I own it. I actually own neither ALA or TRT, which is why I was unsure if I should stick it out.

i would just get them on DVD. you’d be sticking it out for quite awhile.

and honestly, if you’re using a decent blu-ray player, movies like that won’t have a big difference between native 1080P and upscaled to 1080P. and i can’t remember any crazy audio on there that would really make high def audio codecs shine.
