**Wexford Starlite Car Cruise sets May 5th as 2006 Opener**
After a seven month off season, the much anticipated return of the
Wexford Starlite Car Cruise is right around the corner. May 5, 2006 has
been slated as the date to kick off the fourth season of what has become
the largest weekly car cruise in the area.
The extraordinary growth the cruise has enjoyed over its short history
comes as no surprise to those who make the parking lot of North Way
Christian Community their Friday night destination. With over 700
vehicles, family atmosphere, kids activities, prizes, music and fun it
has become the place to be for the hard core cruiser as well as the
casual spectator.
Returning for the 2006 season will be a monthly visit by RD Summers of
3WS Radio. RD will be spinning the oldies the first Friday of every
month. Our regular DJ Denny Dutko will continue the second through
fourth Fridays.
Another popular aspect of the Wexford Starlite Car Cruise that will make
its return for 2006 is the Single Mom’s Garage. Thanks to our great
partnership with Baierl Automotive, the Single Mom’s Garage helps
eligible single mothers in the area. They are able to bring their car to
the cruise, have one of our team perform routine safety and mechanical
inspection and arrange to have some of the problems resolved at Baierl.
Two more popular aspects of the Wexford Starlite Car Cruise that will
make their return are Dash Plaques on the second Friday of the month as
well as theme nights. Themes for 2006 include: Best Father/Son
Restoration, Sport Compact/Tuners, Early Muscle, Street Rod,
Manufacturer Nights, Trucks and many others. One theme night has already
been reserved as Motorcycle Night on July 14, 2006.
Some of the new programs that will be unveiled during the new season
include: expanded Kidz and Family programs, monthly women’s events
(Stamping, Scrapbooking, Make-overs, etc.), and a rolling
Information/Courtesy golf cart to better help cruisers enjoy their
experience every Friday night.
So make sure to reserve Friday May 5, 2006 and every Friday through
September 29th to attend the Wexford Starlight Car Cruise. And as
always, listen for cruise updates every Saturday from 1-3 PM on KDKA
Radio AM 1020 on the “Car Radio” program with host Herschel.
