Must be under a grand total i heard BJs has good deals on the Vizio Do you recommend any local stores? ---

walmart is pretty cheap w/ vizio as well. Basically, go to Best Buy and talk with the people there, see what they have to say… get some advice from them. Write down what TV you want. Then go to BJs/Sams/Walmart and buy it for 20% less than what Best Buy sells it for 🙂 Could get it from newegg too. But they have some if it’s DOA then you’re screwed policy or something like that. edit; Oh, and if you get it from Walmart, and it’s a LCD with some screwed up pixels or even one in a bad spot… you can always just keep exchanging it until you get one that has none :] ---

i dont wanna spend more than a grand on a TV. a 46 would be nice and i know i can fit it Thanks guys. I dont like asking sales guys for help. to many times “bigger is always better” stupid ass’s ---

I bought a 42" Bravia V-series for $999, so that will not be under a grand total, but it’s worth it for a better quality TV. This was at Best Buy. Don’t buy one that is too big, my 42" is almost too big, I sit 9’ away. If you sit that close 42" is max or it will be pixelated. ---

i know. i will be about 9 foot away. right now im 6 from a 42" plasma and it looks great so far walmart - Sanyo 46" for $789 BJs - Vizio 47" for $929( 47 in might be worth going over a g ) Sma Club - Vizio 42" for $797 ---

from what I see in the field working for direcTV I would stay away from sams and wallmart. their picture quality is not consistently good compared to some other places. ---

If you’re going to buy a $1,000 TV, save up the extra few hundred and buy the right one. $1,000 is a lot of money to buy the “middle of the road” TV. Also, check [techbargains.com](http://techbargains.com) for deals. They have a button at the top that says “Cheap TVs” 🙂 ---

I bought my Panasonic Viera 42" last Thanksgiving and I’m happy with it. I think I paid like $900 for it at BB. ---

Dynex 42" LCD 1080P at Best Buy is $599. I was looking at it yesterday on a wall with at least a dozen other tvs and it was one of the better looking pictures. ---

I have the Vizio 1080p HDTV with 3 DVI outputs. I bought it on Black Friday for $750 @ Costco. Love it. ---

Ok you guys saying Vizio + Dynex (Best Buy’s homemade brand) are good quality are off your rocker. [www.avsforum.com](http://www.avsforum.com) where the home theatre geeks are, thoroughly test each tv and those are 2 of the worst brands for quality. The best being Samsung, Sharp, Panasonic, and Sony ---

Every time I post the truth it seems nobody wants to hear it. Do NOT buy from Sam’s Club, Wal-Mart, or BJ’s. All of the TV’s there regardless of brand name are total junk. I do HD installations on 5 or more HD TV’s 5 days a week. I see over 100 TV’s in action every month. I can tell you what to buy, but only if you actually want to buy a good TV. If you want to buy cheap junk, go out and buy cheap junk. But the way I see it… if you are going to spend close to $1K on a TV anyway why try to save $100-$200 and sacrifice tons of quality. What I can say with out making this a page long post is stick with Samsung TV’s at respectable stores and you should be in good shape. Not saying that Samsung is the only name to go with but they have a consistantly better picture than most. Brands like Toshiba and Pansonic have been coming up a bunch in picture quality too. Stay away from Sony, I’m not sure when and where but the picture quality from them has been falling down hill big time. They used to be the #1 TV to buy and the first TV I would suggest to anyone, but about 2 years ago or so the quality of picture went down the shitter.
