knowing that you will be spending your days in FL def changes the suggestions. I will have to agree with an S2k. Fun, descent mpg (totally guessing here), convertible, mod-friendly.
I say get a miata and v8 swap it, but that’ll kill the whole good on gas thing you are looking for.

if your looking at a3’s… go take a look at the mk5 GTI much nicer looking car + you get factory HID’s!

Constantly chasing more HP and torque is not fun to me, driving a car that puts a smile on my face is. I just came back from a quick jaunt and am incredibly happy, the car is so fun to drive you don’t worry about 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.

+1 on RX7 LS1 Swap
Blown S2k is nice too… Or you can go with $15K S2k, spend about $5-$6k for suspension, chassis bracing, intake, headers, cat back, AFC, and the shortened final drive, should be pretty quick and handle nice.
How about a Toyota MR Spyder for $13K and swap in the 2ZZ-GE from the Celica for about $7K? Use the other couple thousand for suspension. Or you can do an MR Spyder with the HASS turbo kit for a few grand. Almost as lightweight as an Elise, and with the turbo kit you can have more power…
How about a clean 70s Nissan Z with no rust for 6-7K and then put either a V8 in it or a worked L28 or L30 engine with carbs, etc. Bad a$$…
Porsche 914 with Chevy V8 swap?
Higher mileage 350Z completely stock for $20K and do some suspension / wheels?
NC Body style Miata?
Accident free but high-mileage NSX? Doable…
Geo Metro with K20 swap?
Evo with K20 swap?
Veilside kitted MKIV Supra with Prius drivetrain swap for the ultimate “sheep in wolf’s clothing” type of feel?
Possibilities are pretty endless.

dodge world right now has one bad ass Camaro SS
pearl white, T tops, S spd…43K. 2001…Has nitto drag radials all around it, SLP dual center exhaust…BAD ASS car…not sure on the price tho.

1977 240ZX FTMFW… seriously 240ZX’s are the shit…
Then again im a Z nut… so of course im going to tell you to get an Z from 1970’s untill the 1980’s… i dont care for Z32’s much… simply cause there a cocksucker to work on

Yea me too, this weekend or next week me and my friend dave from texas will be at the lot, he has an 1988 300ZX Shiro AKA the Porche Delorian and back in texas he has a 240ZX straight from japan, the thing is really clean for its age… im sure wed all get along just fine.
