A more complicated question than it sounds i think.

I break it into two parts.

1. What cars are not yet available in North America but that are or may be coming that you’re interested in

2. Is there something previously thought unobtainable or that you have been planning for a while that you are considering pulling the trigger on?

–

I’ve been thinking a lot about what to move on from my supercharged M3 in to. The logical step is the newer M3 with bolt-ons.

However, is that RS6 coming over here ever? Because the RS7 doesn’t do it for me and i can’t think of another sport sedan that I would consider a viable replacement for my M3.

And as for the unobtanium… Lamborghini Huracans’ are breaking my heart every time i see one. Late model Gallardo’s are seeming like not a bad idea either.

There are so many recent, and not entirely unaffordable cars out there that you know are near maximum depreciation and may actually start going up soon… manual F430 / Gallardo spyders for one. Lots of old, hard to find BMW’s etc.

I’m looking forward to the new Mazda RX-9. But it’ll probably be more than I want to spend and not be practical for me anyways.

If I manage to not buy anything new for a year or two, I will probably buy an FD RX7 instead. I’m hoping that the impending availability of JDM FD’s will make it easier to find one that is reasonably priced.

Next purchase, probably Acadia Denali vs Buick Enclave now that we test drove an Acura MDX and decided it was too small.

I really don’t give a shit about cars anymore.

Good thread…nothing coming out in the near future is anything I would buy, simply for the fact that I would not buy a new car…

But a realistic next car for me would be an '08-ish Aston Martin Vantage 6-speed…but I do not know if/when this will happen…trying to be responsible…would likely use the money to buy another building…

I’m all on board for the Fiat 124 Abarth.

It’s the ND Miata but not ugly and more turbo.

Once my car barn is done I will be pulling the trigger multiple times. Lack of storage has really kept me from buying anything else.

I am looking at a few older cars, nothing fancy just cars I have always wanted to own.

That’s really gone under the radar. Any information on the engine? mods/reliability/performance/etc…?

Stock I4 turbo motor, 164HP in the abarth, 160 in the base model. It’s really just a reskinned ND Miata. Developed by Mazda for Fiat, so you’ll see the same mods and what not that the current gen Miata will have too, just with more boost.

Pretty sure C&D just ran an article comparing the two. I know I read it recently.

I’ve been following R32 GT-R’s lately, scoping out importers and comparing their pricing. I know some people think it’s ridiculous but I’d still like to purchase one, possibly within a few years. Then again, I’ve owned absolutely nothing impressive with 4 wheels but haven’t given up on the game yet.

I’m not too excited about it, nor would I ever buy one new, but I am glad that there is a V6 1LE.

Used, I just like the idea of V6 depreciation and crashability.

> … I still think that the used V6s are the way to go for track beaters either Stang or ATS, I’m not sold on the visibility of the Camaro. I could care less about horsepower. Let the magazine editors tell me about how awesome the suspension is for a baseline, throw some aftermarket springs and shocks and roll bars at it and stickier tires than factory. End up with 95% of the grip, none of the refinement, better weight distribution, 70% of the straight line acceleration, at 25% of the cost. I would be totally comfortable crashing a V6 stang or V6 ATS into wall in a couple years after they have depreciated …

Just look at the list of cars that are slower than the a lowly V6 Camaro:

M3, M5, M6, 911 Turbo, Evora S, Z51 vette…

I will own a 458, supra and r34 gtr at some point in my future. That’s probably all I have my eye on for the foreseeable future. Maybe buy something in the 911, e46m3, fd rx7 area to go wild on a project with my dad and brother in the mean time but I’d say that’s it.

So many cool cars that are newer but the lack of a manual really kills it for me.

It might sound cheesy but the Tesla Model 3. And more because I want to see how it disrupts the market, if at all.

Gallardos still make me swoon but the Huracan is so next level that I can’t not want one.

And anything Koenigsegg makes 🙂

I love how so many companies are killing the clutch pedal making manual car leg humpers cry on each others shoulders.
