# What flare tool & bender should I buy?

I’m looking to buy flare tool and hardline bender. I’ll mainly be using this for nitrous lines and the occasional brake lines. So I need it to be a 37 degree double flare but I’d also like it to be able to do 45 degree flares.
What do you guys use? I don’t want to spend a fortune but I understand what a good tool costs.
Anything good in the $150-250 range? Any personal experiences?
I’ll also need a good bender, I’d like it to be able to do nice tight 180 degree bends if needed.

I use my dads old ass Blue Point flaring tool whenever I need to do a brake line. It is probabally older than me and it works awesome. I have no idea what a similar one would cost today but this one is American made, has about 5 or 6 different size heads for the flare, and isn’t so big that is it a pain to use. As for the tubing bender, you are on your own there. I just have one of those queer plastic ones that can do a 180 degree bend but not very small.

but I swear I didnt pay $400 for it. I recall it only being $200 ish. Wtf.
Its an Imperial 2000-FS.
EDIT: As for a bender I just have one of those generic ones with the three slots in it for diff sized tubing, it seems to work well. For other radii, you could make up some dowls with a simple groove cut in them to bend the tubing around by hand. Itd prob work just fine.

Napa also has a hydraulic flare tool that does everything, including plastic lines. I believe it’s in the $300-400 range too…

I figure I need to run brake, nitrous and fuel lines so why not. It should last many lifetimes.
I’m also thing about starting to make hard line direct port kits for lsx cars and selling them for fun in my spare time.
This AADE conference is killing my spare time, plus my Uncle is visiting for a week so I probably won’t get to use this for a while. ☹

Awesome choice. I have no experience with the quality of that manfuacturer, but I assume it’s the same as the UltraPro ones, and the kit itself is amazing. You won’t be disappointed.
