It’s the people that use the site that can make or break Shift.
We’re lucky in the fact that we’re a local car club so we can post like any other forum but we also have the opportunity to meet up, hang out and have fun. That for me is a big plus and I enjoyed going to Lake George on several night this summer to meet the people behind the keyboards.
Overall I think we have a good group here. Despite the fact that we have a mixed community (Import, Domestic & PJB) we all get along very well, for the most part, and can take the good natured banter that WE ALL dish out.
A lot of the guys on here have known one another since a very young age and have grown up together. While that can be great for comradery it can also be the source of tension and all out fighting between friends. Let’s face it being the close knit community we are there will always be personal issues that spill over onto this forum that have no place being here. I think if we think before we post many of the times we can avoid issues that should be dealt with in private.
We are a car forum first so lets let our cars do most of the shit talking and above all we should have fun.

That is word for word what I have been saying for years. I know people on here that used to tell me to shut up, its the internet, it’s nothing like you think… now they changed their tune and get what i was saying.
Why do people find the need to act like douchebags on here, and play the “Ohh I am totally different in real life.”? Because most people wont give you a chance when they meet ya at a car show or an event from how you act on here. Anyone who knows me, knows I am very open and give people WAY too many too much credit IRL… it takes an awful lot to shy someone away from me. With that being said I have a list, albeit short, of people on here I will straight up ignore if I ever see out in public due to the douchebaggery on here. I dont have time in my life to deal with adults who act like children.

Personally, I don’t come on this site as much anymore because its not as much fun. I don’t come on here to learn about problems with my car and to try and fix them, that’s what car and model specific forums are for. Visiting shift used to be full of lols, now it’s full of facepalms.
