Is this site for real? I found the link on the Performance World Main Page. THen I found loads of pics of my friends cars (Harvey’s GT-R, 604s Skyline, Mick’s Spec-V etcc…) not sure if they were authorized.
Then in the Online store section I see a pic of my friend Jenny Chu from Chicago wearing the same D1 hoodie from the [drifting.com](http://drifting.com) site pic. Definitely not authorized.

It’s called the Nissan Neon.
Apparently Dodge is trying to sue Nissan for copying the name.

Yea he pulled all of the stuff that wasn’t authorized already so everything left there is Ok’ed.
I sell photos and stories for money when people cut and paste that material off the internet it’s theft, end of story. So when I see things like snaps of Jenny Chu (who models for a living) taken from a [drifting.com](http://drifting.com) site photo shoot that they paid lots of money for…I have a problem with that.
Copyright theft is viewed very casually. If someone steals your $100 car stereo from a public street, you are pissed but when some steals your photos that cost $1000 to produce (travel, hotel, equip, labour) its not OK.

man theres one huge difference you’re missing
this guy is not TAKING anything away from you by using these pictures
hes simply showing how much he likes these cars and sharing his passion with whoever is watching on the internet.
hes not making prints and selling them to people for money
hes not hacking a website and stealing your pictures and putting them on his site and claiming they are his
you have to be pretty cocky and stuck up to think some dude who is just sharing and spreading the passion of cars is “STEALING”
oh jee some dude took a picture my friend took of my car drifting and posted it on another website. what a theif!!!

Yeah, I agree with Sasha.
Comparing the posting of a photo to stealing someone stereo is brainless statement. If you steal someone’s stereo you are costing them money.
If you steal someones photo, although it is technically considered stealing you are not costing them any money. The photographer got paid for it already, they don’t lose anything.
If the photo was stolen and then used to make money somehow, I would agree with you 2G-Money, but in 99% of cases that is not the case.
It’s like downloading software like Photoshop instead of buying it. I wouldn’t use photoshop even if I had to pay $19.99 for it - let alone $799.99. If I was using it to generate money - I might buy it, if it was worth it for whatever I was using it for. If it’s not going to pay for itself, Adobe should have made it done a better job and made it worth it for me to buy it or should charge less for it - then they’d get my money. 🙂 Take that as you will re: your photos.
Anyway, stay the hell away from my Stereo.

I expected more from you Sasha. That sounds funny you saying someone is cocky and stuckup LOL. Yes it is theft if you do not have written permission for copyrighted materials, period. Yes they have been TAKEN from the internet properties of others. Read up some material on copyright and you’ll see how off-base you really are.
And this is not some fan-boi website (despite its looks) but rather one that is commercial. There is clearly a link for advertising inquiries, apparel and merchandise and even a classifieds section where surprise, surprise some fake Signal items made from T304 Aluminum?!
The site has been altered, the original pictures taken from others have been removed. If he took a picture of someone else car himself and posted it…fine.

Not really, I think that by saying a photo or written (or music or painting) or anything copyrighted is worthless…now that is brainless.
And when anyone sells a photo, yes you have been paid for its usage but NOT its rights. That is still my property and always will be unless someone wants to pay large money for the entire rights. A photographer can resell it until their death and benefactors can afterwards.
Don’t beleive me? Try stealing an image from Getty or Corbis and see if you survive the legal assault.
If the site is generating revenue, which they are attempting to do…then yeah its a problem. They are making money off of your talent, why is that OK? Even if it was just a fanboi website, I still wouldn’t want anything I worked hard to produce associated with it cause I think it sucks.
Anyway, I should know better than to bring up copyright theft on here cause I won’t have many fans I’ll bet there are some ppl on here that have never bought a CD, DVD or software.
So flame away…
