first off is your timing off? check first with a timing light
im pretty sure u have to start at top dead center its been awhile so im not positive
remove valve cover line up cas dots its tricky when putting it back in but doable u kinda have to put it alittle to the left and when putting it back it will go in the grooves and line up nice then put cover back on and bust out a timing light it has to be a 15 degrees witch is the 2nd line on the left on the crank pully so when the light flashes that mark will be there but again this is a basic description on how to do this and there is prob write ups everywhere like nico so this is basicly the procedure but look it up first hope this helps like i said its been awhile did it like 3-4 years ago but if ur timing is off a bit when done your car will run smooth
