# what is this?

i just noticed that the Green band at the end of the valve cover that connects to the firewall is broken . What is it ?  
you can see it in the pic it goes over the Red wire near the firewall.

if it looks like a little tether its a ground if i am correct in which peice you are talking about

you might want to zoom in with the pic.

but as Terrible mentioned there is a thin wide band that is a ground wire.

its on a plug type, not a screw, it connects to the firewall in that location.

that green band is a copper ground strap. you might want to replace that.

yup i think thats it. And like doba said its a plug type , and its rusted bad.

What might happen if i dont have it connected?

uhm maybe nothing, maybe another ground will be able to take the load until it fails and so on…

just replace it and fasten it to the firewall with a bolt or something, the plug is inconsequential.

When spd-dmn’s wasn’t connected the car wouldn’t even start…
