“all you know” is the understatement of the year.
1. You don’t know NY laws regarding gun sales.
2. You don’t know much if anything about guns.
3. You don’t know much if anything about civil or criminal liability.
But you think you’re in a position to suggest what the owners of this site should restrict. Go vote for Hillary. :shoot:

ah yes, i forgot that my knowledge of nys gun laws, guns, and your PERCEPTION of my knowledge of civil or criminal liability is a barometer of my overall intelligence.

Oh well, I suppose one of the reasons that this country is great is because you can voice your opinion on anything, regardless of whether or not you have any knowledge of the subject that you passing judgement on.

Eh, lighten up on sam. He’s got high marinara pressure.
I think the main point was he was just pointing out a concern for his friends that he felt _might_ be in danger of consequences. Albeit it was based in ignorance, these things happen.
If this was an automotive thread I could have gone off on each and everyone of you for your ignorance. 😛

I don’t see where he passed judgement on your overall intelligence? I think he was just pointing out that you should reconsider making recommendations on something that you claim and demonstrate having absolutely no knowledge of.
And yes, he can slip an anti-hillary remark into any topic. I kind of want Hillary to win, just to see Jay get all pissed off and go smashing the GTO into things.

Carnut I love your old AR, best gun I have purchased thus far.
I’d say go with a ruger 10/22 or even a marlin tube feed 22, my marlin shoots better grouping then my ruger.
I could only see NYSpeed being liable if someone posted how they where going to shoot someone with the gun when they buy it, and even then that would be a stretch.

It was a Yugoslavian SKS, not soo much any kind of AR…unless you mean assault rifle. Either way it was a good gun, once cleaned. I loved it. Kinda wish I didn’t sell it.

heres a brief story that illustrates my main point:
1. i have a one bedroom 600 sqft apt to rent.
2. a woman comes to check it out.
3. she makes a comment about her 6 kids and husband.
4. i say, wow, i don’t know if you all will fit.
5. she leaves, someone else comes and puts down a deposit.
6. i get slapped with a lawsuit for discriminating against her family.
this is purely hypothetical, but it illustrates my point. obviously this example is rare, if not farfetched, but the point is that perception \> reality.
the following is NOT what my point was:
1. guns are bad
2. this site should ban gun sales/purchases
3. people who have guns are bad.
my point was simply that if it were my site, i probably wouldnt want to open myself up to this kind of issue, whether the law is explicitly on my side or not.
but the thread certainly has been amusing.
