# what year did they stop putting the 350 TBI in a silverado 1500?

just wondering really, i know the 95 i used to drive for work had one
is the newer 5.3 a better motor in the 1500 than the old 5.7s?

last year for the tbi was 95, then they went to the vortec 350 from 96-98

thats for the 3/4 tons and 1 tons though aint it?
99 was the first year for the 5.3 in a silverado, they also had them available in the 350 vortec as well until 01 like Pewter said
and yes… go with the 5.3 anyday of the week over the 5.7 (unless of course we talking LS1 or punched out 4.8/5.3 hehe)

old TBI 5.7L was a pig. In fact, TBI 4.3L, 5.0L, & 7.4L were pigs, too.

ahhh that’s right. i forgot all about the vortech 350. gas mileage or not I want a truck pretty soon, probably after i graduate in May. I just need to get my shit straight so I can start looking.
either way I think i like the pre 03 slanted headlight styles better

HD hood makes a big difference. The whole HD front clip looks better.
